LANSING—Warren-based Paslin Co. has received a $1 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to support a $45 million expansion of its Warren manufacturing plant that is expected to create 200 jobs over three years.
Paslin started as a small stamping plant in 1937. Today the company designs and builds customized integrated robotic assembly lines to the auto industry. Paslin has recently received a contract with electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian to supply vehicle assembly systems and battery frame assembly systems for the automaker’s highly anticipated electric vehicle. As a result of the contract, Paslin plans to make significant investments into electric vehicle-specific machinery and equipment.
Officials with the Michigan Economic Development Corp. said Michigan was chosen for the project due to the unique availability of skilled human capital necessary to design and build the Rivian systems.
