Workforce Intelligence Network Summit To Examine Workforce Disruption, Including Automated Products, 3D Printing

SOUTHFIELD — On Oct. 20, local and national panelists from the Federal Reserve, Wayne State University College of Engineering, Innovation Accelerator Foundation and more will explore how leading edge technologies, such as 3D printing and connected and automated products, will transform Michigan’s world of work and business.

The Workforce Intelligence Network will also unveil a new report on these topics, based on statewide survey results.

Speakers will include WIN executive director Lisa Katz; Paul Traub, senior business economist for the Detroit office of the Federal Reserve; Local Motors automated vehicle executive Corey Clothier; Innovation Acceleration Foundation founder John Pyrovolakis; Gregg Garrett, CEO and managing director of the Michigan innovation consulting firm CGS Advisors LLC; Emily Stover DeRocco, CEO and principal of E3 and director of workforce development at LIFT, a Washington, D.C.-based education and workforce development consulting frim; Wayne State University College of Engineering dean Farshad Fatouhi; Tracy Pierner, vice president of academic affairs at Henry Ford College; Timothy M. Jackson, Ph.D., executive director of secondary initiatives at the Livingston Educational Service Agency of the Washtenaw Intermediate School District; and Carl Winans, co-founder of the Michigan phone case developer MegaTiny Corp. and founder of the brand development firm Oceanvue.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Detroit branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, 1600 E. Warren Ave. in Detroit.
