TROY – Gov. Rick Snyder will be attending IoT TechConnect on April 4 at the Troy Marriott to show his support for Michigan Technology.

The former Gateway Computer CEO, and Michigan Venture Capitalist, is in his final year as governor of the state of Michigan.

“Michigan has always been a driving force for innovation. With the advancements happening in technology across our state today, we have a lot to be proud of,” Snyder said. “It’s great to see events like IoT Tech Connect helping Michigan businesses create the relationships needed to excel in their field and maximize the economic momentum in Michigan.”

IoT TechConnect, “A Survival Guide to the Internet Of Things,” is co-produced by MITechNews.Com and CloudTech1.Com. It will feature Michigan companies, experts, and products in the rapidly growing IoT segment. Other workshops include hands-on demonstrations of commercial drone technology, and another will let attendees experience Virtual and Augmented Reality. Knowledge tracks include Autonomous and Connected Vehicles, Connected Tech, Industrial IoT, Cybersecurity and one for IoT Entrepreneurs that features Women in Tech, Training and the Accelerators, Incubators and Co-Working spaces in Southeast Michigan.

Hundreds of attendees are expected to hear from industry thought leaders during keynote and breakout sessions. At 4 pm, Kyyba Innovations will host an IoT Pitch Competition with the winner eligible for a $50,000 investment and support services, as well as mentorship from the organization’s extensive network.

The winner will be announced at 6 pm, followed by a VIP Reception co-sponsored by Comcast Business and Warner Norcross + Judd LLP. The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center also is a major sponsor of this event.
