Cargo Volumes Through St. Lawrence Seaway Down Due To Lower Grain Exports
DETROIT – Bi-national cargo volumes through the St. Lawrence Seaway (from March 22 to Aug. 31) were down 3.5 percent compared to the same period in 2018. A 20 percent decline in grain shipments was a big factor. Cargos included grain, construction materials, road salt, aluminum and wind energy components, some 20.9 million metric tons
