DETROIT – Solar power is quickly becoming a viable form of renewable energy, with the residential solar market closing at $2.9 billion in 2014. E-commerce platform GreenLancer has been a part of this industry for the past few years, providing instant access to high quality solar designs and permitting services.
The way the platform works is by allowing contractors to use these designs to build and install solar electric systems on residential homes. By the using the GreenLancer website, contractors can manage projects, create quotes and order services from one central location. While there are other companies that cater to the solar industry in this way, Executive Vice President Michael Sharber explained that their approach is a little different.
?Other e-commerce platforms provide the customer with tools and not the actual finished product. GreenLancer provides turnkey design services from feasibility study on down to permit drawings,? Sharber said. ?Because everything has been predefined, customers know exactly what they?re going to get, when they?re going to get it, and how much it?s going to cost, prior to committing to the order.?
