GRAND RAPIDS – Join Michigan Sustainable Business Forum January 17 at 10am for a conversation on the intersection of the food system and climate action.

Food systems are both impacted by climate change and major contributors to climate change. They have been recognized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change as an important target for global climate discussions and solutions. Learn from a panel of food system and climate action professionals as they discuss the nexus between the two.

Advocates for local food policy will be particularly interested in learning how to educate and inspire their local community and legislators. Speakers will provide easily digestible examples of climate action within food systems, and opportunities for funding within food-related work for climate goals. Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future will be discussing how to work toward a healthy, equitable, resilient food system and present their upcoming climate action projects.

  • Rodger Cooley, Executive Director, Chicago Food Policy Action Council
  • Sarah Dehart Faltico, Program Coordinator, Climate + Energy Project
