LOS ANGELES – America has UFOs on the brain after the congressional hearing regarding the topic of extraterrestrial life and technology, but not everything in the skies that looks weird is unexplainable – like SpaceX launches, for example.

This “UFO” sighting over California shows a craft with a beautiful glowing halo and impressive contrail of shining white smoke moving through the night sky, but it’s only “unidentified” to those who have not yet familiarized themselves with what SpaceX launches look like from the ground.

The video doesn’t specify when it was recorded, but according to the SpaceX website the last California launch date was the Starlink mission July 23, 2023 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station… but Cape Canaveral is in Florida so it seems likely to be a data entry error. According to news stations the last California launch was from Vandenberg Space Force Base earlier in July which was seen across southern California skies.

SpaceX launches invariably have people shrieking about UFOs every time, but they don’t meet the general criteria for Unexplained Aerial Phenomena such as maneuverability beyond human capabilities, sudden or instantaneous acceleration, cloaking, or trans-medium motion.
