ROYAL OAK – Terry Bean of Motor City Connect and Janet Tyler, COO of Red Level, also were producers of the TEDX Detroit conference held in October at the Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit. TED (Talent, Education, Design) drew 2,600, a record for the eighth year of the independently produced conference. Some 600 students also were in attendance.

More than 500 applicants applied to appear. That number was culled down to about 17 speakers and two dozen acts. The theme was you had to have a tie to Detroit, or have lived in Detroit. To find out more about TEDX and how you can participate in 2017, click on http://www.tedxdetroit.com/
