TRAVERSE CITY – Vishnu Mano, President and Founder of Spotter, won the audience’s vote after delivering the evening’s only remote pitch at NewTech’s event Sept 13th.

Mano’s Spotter, a mobile app developed to help find its users places to park in a fresh new way, utilizes a combination of sensors, security camera footage, and other technology to alert users of parking lots and structures with available parking, number of spots, and location. The app saves its users time by removing the trial and error of manually searching for a spot.

Other pitches shared:

Abby Cherry, CEO of History of Hometown Heroes, presented her app, utilizing QR codes and other scanning or image recognition software to display interactive educational media banners on a user’s phone to share the history, heritage, and stories of veterans in the area. The History of Hometown Heroes app can also be used for many other purposes, such as interactive sponsor banners, etc.

Andy LaPointe pitched his organization, MeetAmi, a FinTech company, founded to help wealth management firms navigate the world of digital assets on behalf of their clients. MeetAmi Innovations, Inc. is a powerhouse startup, already securing $29 million in funding and operating out of the same offices US Robotics formerly inhabited.

Video Chat A Pro connects its users with licensed electricians, mechanics, plumbers, and other skilled-trades people via video calls. Users pay by the minute to gain access to these professionals. Overall, the app/platform helps companies and users alike by reducing costly mistakes, saving money, and time.
