ROYAL OAK – Justine Sheu from ProUp.Com talks about how her website helps students get connected to career paths in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math who might not get the introduction otherwise. Sheu developed her program through the Detroit Public School District, where she works with high school students to match them with STEM internships, jobs and training opportunities.
Sheu is interviewed by Rachele Downs, Vice President, Entrepreneurial Strategies at Inforum. She is working closely with Inforum to develop her company and business plan.
Since January, ProUp has signed up more than 30 area high schools are participating in the pilot that is working directly with tends of thousands of students during her beta test. On the horizon is ProUp St. Louis, where a huge base of employers want to get involved in education and provide more meaningful STEM work shadows and internships.
