GRAND RAPIDS – West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum elected eight local professionals to its 16-member board of directors at its Annual Meeting last week.

New board members include Amy Butler, Director of Sustainability at Michigan State University; Misti Stanton, Assistant Vice President and Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Mercantile Bank, Zachary Verhulst, founder and managing principal of Pure Architects; and Jonathan Wilson, a regional manager for DTE Energy.

They are joined by four returning board members, Nicholas Farr, Manager at Intuit, Inc.; Allmon Forrester, Director of Facilities, Planning, and Sustainability at John Ball Zoo; Raul Hernandez Guzman, associate talent recruiter at Herman Miller; and Dennis McKee, manager of stakeholder relations for Consumers Energy.  Board members serve for two years.

Paul Isely, Associate Dean of the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University, was elected president of the board. At Grand Valley, Isely’s research and teaching focuses on innovation and environmental economics. He was reappointed to Michigan’s Utility Consumer Participation Board by Governor Whitmer in February.

The board includes representatives from government, academia, not for profit organizations, and business.
