LANSING – The Michigan Department of Treasury is hosting a sales tax outreach seminar in Southeast Michigan to provide insight to and receive feedback from small businesses.

This seminar is ideal for owners of gas stations, convenience stores, wine, beer and liquor stores or other small businesses. Treasury Outreach Team members will provide an overview of the sales tax filing process, the ins and outs of auditing and how to appeal an audit decision, including dedicating a portion of the session to taxpayer questions and suggestions.

“If you own a small business, please mark your calendar to attend our sales tax seminar,” said Deputy Treasurer Glenn White, head of Treasury’s Tax Administration Group. “Small businesses can receive extra attention and help at this seminar. It’s also an opportunity for Treasury to learn how to better serve Michigan’s taxpayers.”

From 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, June 21, Treasury Outreach Team members will be at the following location:

Henry Ford College
Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services and Conference Center
Building L – Berry Auditorium
