GRAND RAPIDS – In a special plenary session of the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum 4th Annual Meeting on March 14, Kristina Johnston of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce will discuss how the Water Crisis has impacted its area businesses and highlight opportunities to support the recovery of impacted businesses.
Roger Cargill of Schupan Recycling and Matt Flechter of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality will discuss efforts to build up recycling infrastructure in Flint in response to the thousands of water bottles distributed there.
Other presentations will focus on electronic waste in Michigan, the Lowell biodigester project, agriculture as landscape and how non-food businesses can support local farms. Keynote speakers are Pashon Murray, founder of Detroit Dirt, and Dar Baas, Director of the Kent County Board of Public Works.
This year’s conference presented by Valley City Electronic Recycling, Herman Miller and Kent County Department of Public Works.
