ANN ARBOR – Ann Arbor SPARK has hired Komal Doshi as its entrepreneurial services director of mobility programs.  In this role, Doshi will work with existing and new startups to identify and solve challenges, engage stakeholders, and build new relationships within the mobility industry. 

This new position at Ann Arbor SPARK, funded by the City of Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti SmartZone (Local Development Finance Authority or LDFA), was created to assist the entrepreneurial community in its engagement with new technologies and established companies in the industry. 

“The mobility industry’s growth is critical to our future economic success and Doshi’s work with startups will ensure a robust pipeline of companies in this space,” said Paul Krutko, president and CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK. “She will also ensure startups will continue to collaborate with and grow their networks within our partner organizations: MCity, the American Center for Mobility, Techstars Mobility, University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, the Center for Automotive Research, Planet M and many others.”

Doshi’s impressive experience includes strategizing and growth and development at the University of Michigan’s Sustainable Mobility and Accessibility Research and Transportation (SMART). She also developed and managed a range of global partnerships and collaborated with multi-sector stakeholders.

During her tenure at SMART, Doshi co-developed and managed the Mobi Prize and Mobi Platform, the first global platform for mobility innovators and enterprises focused on business strategy and entrepreneurial growth. Her work was focused on business development strategy and partnership building with sponsors, advisors, jurors and the innovator network.

Doshi earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture from Guru Gobind Singh Indrasprastha University in New Delhi. India. She earned her master’s degree in urban design from University of Michigan.
