ANN ARBOR – Ann Arbor Wireless, has purchased Ann Arbor ISP Professional Communications Services Broadband and changed the name of the combined companies to 20/20 Communications. Terms were not disclosed.
But 20/20 Communications gains 14 new microwave towers in the deal to triple the former Ann Arbor Wireless’ geographic footprint from Jackson to Detroit, said 20/20 CEO Mark Mark McCleary. The merger also beefs up 20/20’s current staff of 50 in four store – Ypsilanti, Scio Township, Plymouth and Jackson.
“One of our primary business goals has always been to enhance our position in the marketplace to offer the most comprehensive high-speed Internet and voice services available to our customers,” McCleary said. “This new business venture allows us to do just that by augmenting the networks we already have.”
PCS Broadband’s niche was providing a full array of high-speed wireless Internet solutions to businesses that are located in areas where standard high-speed services are not available, said Dave McCarthy, founder of PCS Broadband and newly appointed chief radio frequency engineer at 20/20.
