FERNDALE – Michigan Science Center CEO Tonya Matthews announces the new STEMinista project to get girls interested in STEM education – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Less than 20 percent of women are now working in their career fields, down from roughly 40 percent a couple decades ago. Getting more girls into STEM could also help fill the hundreds of thousands of STEM jobs in Michigan and across the country.

STEMinista is for girls in the 4th through 8th grades. If you have a daughter you think might be interested in getting into this exciting new educational program served up at the Michigan Science Center, applications are now open.
