MADISON HEIGHTS—Metro Wireless, an internet service and telecommunications provider, announced an expansion of its services to Rochester, Novi, Livonia, Romulus, and surrounding areas.
The services, at speeds of 100 mbps download and 20 upload, or 200 download and 40 upload, will be available by June 30, company officials said.
“Our new asymmetrical tiers are great for small and midsized business or even larger companies looking for non-terrestrial backup options,” said Metro Wireless CEO Dominic Serra. “Today’s news brings us one step closer toward offering all businesses more options on their bandwidth choices while keeping prices affordable, speeds fast and installs free without the business customer bearing the cost of expensive cable or fiber build outs.”
Having a wireless backup can protect data and services from power outages, natural disasters, fiber cuts, and other connection issues.
Company officials said its high-speed wireless services would also be available in Wixom, Farmington, Redford Township, Westland, Garden City, and Taylor.
Metro Wireless’ network is geared towards delivering cost effective and reliable services to underserved areas where broadband choices are limited—or virtually nonexistent in some spots. They also serve many businesses in dense areas of Detroit area. The company offers temporary, permanent, and backup services including fixed wireless, fiber, LTE, P2P, SD-WAN, colocation, managed WiFi and hosted PBX nationwide.
