NOVI – On MITech TV May 15 we discussed ITC’s role in the community working with the public, stakeholders and customers and learn more about the structures it oversees.

Cynthia Stump, ITC Regional Manager for Local Government and Community Affairs and Gordie Halt, ITC Senior Engineer discuss ITC’s role in the community.

This video discusses ITC community commitments extending well beyond providing reliable energy. Cynthia shared how it is ITC’s responsibility to take an active role in developing long-lasting relationships and partnerships within the communities that the largest independent electricity transmission company serves.

Further, related to community safety from an electrical perspective, Gordie shared with viewers that ITC designs and builds the power grid to be at least as safe as the National Electric Safety Code, which is the primary standard that governs how the electric system is built.

Finally, Cynthia shared that outreach and transparency are paramount in ITC’s local government and community affairs department. The group takes great care to provide open and honest communication in the communities they serve, whether it’s working with elected officials or landowners.
