ROYAL OAK – Sibrina Collins, Executive Director of the Marburger STEM Center at Lawrence Technological University, talks about her outreach program for K-12 and beyond. Collins said the high school summer camps are filled to capacity. Those camps include Biotechnology, Fabrication, Psychology, Sketching and Web Design. 48 percent of the students that participate in these summer camps enroll at LTU.

The Marburger STEM center was funded by Steve Balmer, a Microsoft co-founder. Balmer looks summer math classes at LTU, which allowed him to skip his freshman year at Harvard and start as a sophomore where he met Bill Gates, another Microsoft co-founder. The rest is history.
