SOUTHFIELD – Robofest, hosted by Lawrence Technological University in Southfield May 15-17, was a festival of competitions and events with autonomous robots encouraging students to have fun while learning STEAM and Computer Science principles.
Students can design, construct, and program the robots using any robotics kit and programming language.
Christopher Cartwright, who manages the Robofest competitions, joined MITech TV to provide the back story on the 25-year old program, and how it not only helps students learn how to build programmable robots, but also offers those who win scholarships to Lawrence Technological University.
Five past scholarship winners attended LTU last school year.
The next Robofest World Championship is May 2026.
