ROYAL OAK – Three cool events for tech entrepreneurs in Southwest Michigan are on tap in October from the WMed Innovation Center in Kalamazoo. And center director Sandra Cochrane details business, crowdfunding and the return of Venture Tuesday in this segment of M2 TechCast.

Oct. 25: SBDC Workshop “Business Resource Essentials,” 9:00-12:00, Multi-Purpose Room. Discover resources available that can help you make informed decisions about your business’ future. Nicolette Warisse Sosulski, Business Librarian will share how to use their business collection to locate market research information. Oct. 26: Crowdfunding Workshop, 9:00-3:00, Multi-Purpose Room. Despite what you might think, crowdfunding is not simply telling all your friends and family about your business idea and hoping they give you money. Successful crowdfunding requires careful planning and a full-fledged marketing campaign! This course provides a basic overview of the steps you’ll need to take to start a crowdfunding campaign for your small business. You’ll be walked through the steps we believe are most critical to crowdfunding — ensuring you launch and execute the most effective crowdfunding campaign you can! Oct. 31: Kalamazoo Venture Tuesday, 9:00-11:00, Multi-Purpose Room. This quarterly morning meeting is part of the WMed Innovation Center’s entrepreneurial training effort. Kalamazoo Venture Tuesday provides informal networking among entrepreneurs (and aspiring entrepreneurs), investors, and others interested in nurturing entrepreneurship in Michigan. Three technology companies will present their business plans to the audience and a panel of three investors.
