DETROIT – Next Energy is hosting on Feb. 23 the semi-finals of the 9th Annual Global Automotive & Mobility Innovation Challenge presented by SAE International and the MI Innovation Alliance.

GAMIC provides early‐stage start‐ups with an opportunity for competition‐prep coaching and targeted exposure to decision‐makers, in addition to over $300,000 in total in-kind acceleration services and cash awards (over $75,000 per Award Winner).

The Semi-finals also includes introductions to leading technology and investment perspectives for high value automotive technologies and innovations. OEMs, suppliers, investors and successful entrepreneurs will participate and network on future needs and opportunities for innovators in the high-tech automotive industry. 

Quarter-Final presentations were held this year in Sterling Heights, Michigan; Waterloo, Ontario; and Silicon Valley, California. Following the February 23 Semi-finals, the GAMIC Finals will be held during the SAE World Congress in Detroit on April 4. Finals winners will present again on the main exhibition floor at the SAE TechHub the afternoon of April 6.
