KALAMAZOO – Smart phone battery case manufacturer mophie will expand its Texas Township distribution operation creating 65 jobs – with the help of a $375,000 Michigan Business Development Performance grant.

mophie will invest $685,000 to complete the project in the small city southwest of Kalamazoo. Michigan was chosen over a competing site in Utah. Founded in 2005 in Paw Paw, mophie was acquired by Zagg, Inc. in February 2016, a Utah-based company which will maintain and grow mophie’s Southwest Michigan operations. mophie also operates in California, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and China.
