DETROIT ? Wayne State University?s School of Business Administration is searching for an entrepreneur in residence to work with business students as its Adams Entrepreneur Fellow. The gig pays $70,000 a year and provides a generous benefits package.

Now here?s the fine print: Eligibility is restricted to applicants who currently reside in southeastern Michigan and who will continue residing in southeastern Michigan during the period of the fellowship.

The grant for the Adams Fellowship was provided through The Community Foundation of Southeastern Michigan, an independent nonprofit organization governed by a board of 50 volunteer civic leaders. Administered by Terry Cross, Executive in Residence at the School of Business Administration, the program will select an Adams Fellow to work with an entrepreneur for one year. The award recipient will participate in the assessment of new ventures as well as the management of an entrepreneur-established firm.

Cross, an entrepreneur, has extensive professional experience includes a portfolio in the manufacturing, securities, and capital management industries in Michigan, New York, and California. He is currently the owner of Windward Associates, a venture consulting business, and contributes his time and expertise for the benefit of WSU?s School of Business Administration as both an Executive in Residence and serving on the Board of Visitors.

“The person selected as the Fellow will have a chance to work one-on-one with an experienced entrepreneur for a year and will gain significant practical experience and knowledge,?? Cross aid. ?This fits in well with our new initiatives in entrepreneurship.”
