TROY – The Troy Chamber of Commerce’s ITroy Committee last week presented its Eighth annual Best of the Web Helen eWards for Web Excellence to seven web sites developed by Michigan-based design companies.
Each winner received a Helen eWard, a stunning crystal pillar award with a 3D image of Helen of Troy etched inside. The Best of Show winner also received a traveling plaque to display until next year?s presentation.
Elemental Detroit was responsible for designing the Consumer Services and Best of Show sites. Awecomm collected one award this year for its design of the Business Services pick.
?We received 200 nominations from across the state this year,? said 2007 ITroy Chair Tracy-Ann Palmer of Palmer National.

For its third year, the ITroy Committee also awarded one site the Best of Show honor. The 2007 overall winner is KarsNuts.Com
?New this year, we selected 24 business professionals to contribute to the judging process,? Palmer said. ?These leaders ranged from IT specialists and design experts to technology reporters and end users.?
Nominations will be accepted for the 2008 Helen eWards in July 2008, with the awards luncheon taking place in October 2008.
