BIRMINGHAM ? Entrepreneurs Jeff and Rich Sloan have a new promotion, this time on QVC during the TV-auction show?s Decade of Discoveries Tour. The Sloans will appear in Chicago and San Francisco to provide business tips and onsite seminars to encourage other entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams.

The Sloans also will be highlighting their book on QVC, named for their syndicated radio show, StartupNation.

From radio, to books, the Sloans have been building an entrepreneurial media empire that could perhaps include their own TV show, Rich Sloan said in an interview.

?We say this every year, but TV is next,?? Sloan said. ?We have created the venue to get the entrepreneurial message out. We are also eyeing the launch of a magazine.?

StartupNation, the radio show, is heard in 53 markets. The host station remains WJR 760 AM News Radio in Detroit, but the show will be heard in September on WOOD 1300 AM in Grand Rapids as well.

For those that prefer listening to the Sloans provide their tips on the web, StartupNation can be heard online through MS Live Meeting at StartupNation.Com. Podcasting, the downloading of MP3 audio files to hand held devices like the Apple iPod, well that?s on the horizon too. As is a second book that will be filled with success stories from other entrepreneurs.

Sloan Ventures, a portfolio of technology and life sciences companies the brothers built over the past decade, remains in the mix, but Sloan said Sloan Ventures is not as aggressive at building companies as before. The focus for now and the foreseeable future is on StartupNation.
