DETROIT – Tyler Smith of Niche Retail headlines the next Southeast Michigan Entrepreneurial Initiative scheduled for March 9 at Wayne State University’s TechTown.
Smith of NicheRetail will share his success story, including how his business grew from a living room startup in 2001 to a successful online niche retailer with more than $10 million in sales in 2005. The featured companies will present their business plans and receive feedback from venture
capitalists, bankers, angel investors and others with experience in assisting entrepreneurial businesses. While he is a rapidly growing and profitable company, the other two businesses are promising start-up investment opportunities.
Presenting companies include ERT Systems, and NanoScience Engineering Corp. ERT Systems combines technical expertise with user insight and industry credibility needed to target the high need, high growth, and clearly defined emergency response market.
NanoScience Engineering Corporation, formed to manufacture and market nanomaterials produced using the SuperCritical Fluid Process developed at Wayne State University.
The program is scheduled for March 9 from 8:30 to 10:30 am at the Tech One Building at TechTown, 440 Burroughts St., Detroit.
