ANN ARBOR ? Michigan Sen. Debbie Stabenow will talk about
excellence in technology in her keynote speech next month at the Ann Arbor Chapter of the Association of Women in Computing?s annual gala.
The gala also raises money for college scholarships for women of all ages formally studying information technology. It will be held Nov. 5 at the Fairlane Club in Dearborn.
?The Association for Women in Computing is thrilled to have Senator Stabenow support our efforts to provide opportunities to women pursuing a career in information technology,? said Audrey Neuvirth, AWC-AA president. ?The Senator is a strong advocate for advancing technology in Michigan and a terrific role model for women seeking to make a difference.?
In addition to Stabenow, the event will showcase the winners of this year?s Top Michigan Women In Computing, who were selected from a field of 30 nominees. The award recognizes outstanding scientific and technical achievement in IT, extraordinary service to a nominee?s business and mentoring within the computing community.
