ANN ARBOR ? The 25th anniversary of the Michigan Growth Capital Symposium will be in Ypsilanti in 2006, rather than its usual home at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Call it growing pains.
The U-M Business School is expanding in 2006 and the venue won?t be available for a major showcase that draws more than 500 attendees, like the Growth Capital Symposium. So MGCS host David Brophy, a U-M business school professor, is moving it down I-94 to the Eagle Crest Conference Center in Ypsilanti.
The 2005 Michigan Growth Capital Symposium attracted 560 attendees, more than 125 venture capital and private equity firms, and a significant number angel investors. The 2006 Symposium promises to be an even greater success, Brophy said in a press release.
