LIVONIA ? Madonna University will break ground Oct. 2 on a 60,000 square foot building that is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council ? the first building in Livonia to be Energy and Environmental Design certified.

The building also is the first stand-alone building the private university has built in the past 40 years.

Attending the ground breaking will be His Eminence Adam Cardinal Maida, Madonna University President Sr. Rose Marie Kujawa and the entire Madonna community. To-date, more than 300 students, alumni, donors and community leaders have called to RSVP their attendance.

Designed by SmithGroup architects, and built by Clark Construction, the structure will include the latest in environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient features.
