SOUTHFIELD ? Lawrence Technological University, with some $4 million in new technology projects stuffed into its portfolio in the past 18 months, has established a new office to manage these applied research grants.
The Office of Technology Partnerships, under the leadership of Mark Brucki, will seek to expand LTU?s existing applied research programs in innovative materials, automotive engineering, and alternative energy technologies, as well as new strategic areas not yet identified.
Brucki brings to the University a quarter century of experience in business development in telecommunications, energy, and consulting, with a strong entrepreneurial and executive management focus. He serves on the board of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association.
?This new office will expand our efforts to develop collaborative partnerships with industry, government agencies and other non-profit organizations, and to attract more funding for applied research projects,? said University President Charles M. Chambers.
LTU has won nearly $4 million in research initiatives in the past 18 months in the form of technology partnerships with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Army Research Lab and the Tank-Automotive Research Engineering and Development Center. Each project seeks to commercialize the technologies developed.
