ANN ARBOR – The Association of Women in Computing Ann Arbor have announced their 2005 Top Michigan Women in Computing Award winners, who will be honored at the AWC Annual Gala scheduled for Nov. 5 at the Fairlane Club in Dearborn.
The AWC honors the women for their extraordinary service in computing and outstanding scientific and technical achievement. They are:
Katherine (Kitty) Bridges – The Associate Vice President of IT Central Services at the University of Michigan, Bridges directs IT Central Services, which supports faculty, staff and students in infrastructure and academic computing services.
LuAnn Chrumka – As the Vice President of IT Sourcing &Centralized Development at SBC Communications, Inc., Chrumka is responsible for the development and management of sourcing strategies for IT Services and all outsourced applications development and operations activities.
Lynn Conway – Conway is a Professor Emertia, Electrical Engineering Computer Services, at the University of Michigan, working in the Advanced Technology Laboratories.
Charlotte Decker – As the Director of Global Computing at General Motors, Decker is in charge of strategy development and design, architecture development and design and IT infrastructure library operations for personal, server and mainframe computing, storage and directories.
Laura Patterson – Patterson works at the University of Michigan as the Associate Vice President of Administrative Information Systems, where she directed the M-Pathways project, which resulted in the university-wide implementation of financial, student administration and human resource management systems.
Christina Watson – The Manager of Systems, Technical Operations at Automatic Data Processing, Inc., Watson manages the production data center, more than 400 Unix and Windows servers and more than 13 terabytes of data storage.
