GRAND RAPIDS – Michigan Sustainable Business Forum is pleased to host John Elkington – world renowned author, advisor, and entrepreneur – for a discussion of his sustainability in business research and his recent book Green Swans: The Coming Boom in Regenerative Capitalism. This virtual event will feature a one-hour discussion, as well as a networking opportunity from 1:00-1:30 pm. Business professionals and students interested in the intersection of business and sustainability will benefit from Elkington’s decades of acclaimed research.

Elkington is an authority on corporate responsibility and sustainable development. He has worked with countless corporations, as well as with the financial community, industry bodies, government, NGOs, academia, innovators, and entrepreneurs. He has also served on over 70 boards and advisory boards, leading, as BusinessWeek described him, as “a dean of the corporate responsibility movement for three decades”.

Elkington has written and co-authored 20 books, including his latest, Green Swans: The Coming Boom in Regenerative Capitalism, released in 2020. This book explores new forms of capitalism specific to the twenty-first century. The pages of this book pull from Elkington’s own experience in boardrooms, as he looks at real-world examples and case studies of potential world-saving solutions. Elkington’s book was written for business leaders who are looking to prepare their business for the shifts in global priorities.

Throughout this event, Elkington will dive deeper into the intersectionality of capitalism, corporate work, and sustainability, as well as the need for solutions driving regenerative capitalism, and the systemic changes that need to take place in our society.
