SOUTHFIELD–Cleantech companies take note: The Centrepolis Accelerator, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, and the United States Department of Energy are hosting an event to highlight the many funding and support resources available that can enable technology commercialization and business growth.

The event begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, and is scheduled for an hour.

It will begin with an introduction to the Michigan Cleantech Hardware Accelerator, and its resources, by Dan Radomski, executive director of the Centrepolis Accelerator, the business accelerator on the campus of Lawrence Technological University in Southfield. Also speaking: Robert Jackson, director of the Energy Services office of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, and officials of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Clean technology, in short cleantech, is any process, product, or service that reduces negative environmental impacts through significant energy efficiency improvements, the sustainable use of resources, or environmental protection activities.
