MARSHALL  –  Common Citizen will kick off 2021 with the Common Citizen for the Common Good food drive, which launched on New Year’s Day.

Common Citizen has partnered with local food banks and charitable organizations to host the food drive at its Flint, Detroit and Battle Creek locations.

“The communities we serve have welcomed Common Citizen with open arms, and our food drive in Flint, Detroit and Battle Creek is our way of returning some of that love to our local neighbors,” Common Citizen CEO Michael Elias said. “I am proud to announce Common Citizen will match all food donations by donating a box of food items for each box filled by customers. Working together, we will help ensure no one goes hungry during this holiday season and beyond.”

Non-perishable food item donations will be accepted New Year’s Day through February at Common Citizen’s Flint location, 310 South Averill Ave.; Detroit location, 12604 E. Jefferson Ave.; and Battle Creek location, 1240 E. Columbia Ave. Local partners include American Legion Post 257 in Battle Creek, South Flint Soup Kitchen and Manistique Community Treehouse Center in Detroit.

Customers age 21 and older who donate food items will receive a 15 percent discount on their total purchase at the three locations. Patients must also provide a state-issued medical card. The discount cannot be combined with other offers.
