LANSING – Connected Nation, through its state program Connected Nation Michigan, is hosting a series of free webinars focused on telehealth usage and advances for patients and doctors, and how the technology is impacting the health care industry as a whole.
Since the coronavirus outbreak, the need for telehealth and telemedicine has grown tremendously. Patients are now using new online technologies to meet with their health care providers. CN Michigan wants to make it easier for YOU to connect with your primary physician while staying healthy at home.
“After COVID-19, there was an immediate need to reduce in-person contact, especially in health care facilities,” said Eric Frederick, Executive Director, CN Michigan. “CN Michigan has researched and completed a comprehensive telehealth study that looked at the use and perceptions of telehealth in rural areas. This study showed why health systems should use telehealth technologies to reach more patients, especially in today’s unpredictable world.”
The third webinar in the series will take place on Tuesday, August 25, at 11 a.m. (ET) via Zoom. CN Michigan will talk with experts from Baptist Health and Michigan State University about new innovations in wearable technology for patients. They will also discuss the “next big thing” in telemedicine and what is being done to create a telehealth approach that’s more consumer driven.
“Our goal for the webinar is to facilitate a broad discussion between participants and our panel of experts,” said Frederick. “The discussion will center on the evolution of telehealth, areas that need attention, and telehealth research.”
