DETROIT – DTE Energy named a new chief nuclear officer to lead its Fermi 2 nuclear power plant. Paul Fessler will rejoin Fermi as the chief nuclear officer, effective immediately.

Fessler previously served as chief nuclear officer, and has more than 28 years of experience in the nuclear industry and has served in several senior leadership roles during his 41 years with DTE.

Fessler replaces Keith Polson, who joined DTE in 2016 and has left to pursue other opportunities.

“Paul’s extensive knowledge of the nuclear industry, as well as his deep knowledge of the plant and its people, ensure that Fermi 2 will continue to pursue the highest standards of nuclear excellence,” said Gerry Anderson, DTE chairman and CEO. “We are grateful to Keith for his contributions to Fermi.”

Fermi 2, located in Monroe, Michigan, employs 900 people.
