SOUTHFIED I – BullsEye Telecom helped to raise more than $1.3 million through its support of the radiothons of two local nonprofit organizations, Detroit Dog Rescue and SAY Detroit.

BullsEye lent its expertise to the two events by establishing temporary cloud-based, VoIP contact centers to ensure that optimal infrastructure was in place to aid with fundraising efforts. In total, 25 volunteers from BullsEye were on hand to provide support at the two events as part of the company’s “BullsEye Cares” initiative that focuses on helping those in need in and around Detroit.

The first radiothon took place on November 16 at Orchard Mall in West Bloomfield and supported Detroit Dog Rescue in its efforts to create a state-of-the-art, no-kill animal center in Detroit. A total of $67,000 was raised at this first-ever radiothon held by the organization.

The second radiothon was held on December 6 at The Somerset Collection in Troy to support SAY Detroit, an organization that aims to improve the lives of Detroit’s neediest citizens through shelter, food, medical care, volunteer efforts and education. The radiothon, which raised nearly $1.3 million, was hosted by Mitch Albom, who founded SAY Detroit in 2006. This was the fifth consecutive year that BullsEye has supported the SAY Detroit Radiothon. During this time, it has helped the organization collect more than $5 million for the neediest citizens of Detroit.

Teams of BullsEye engineers and experts deployed to each of the locations one day prior to the events to install the contact centers (“The BullsEye Contact Center”) from scratch. The BullsEye Contact Center included:

  • Best-in-class hardware running behind the scenes operations
  • Cloud-based IP-PBX telephony
  • Polycom VVX 311 phones with full touchscreen, color displays and HD voice capabilities
  • Call queuing technology to allow simultaneous calls to be receive, queued and managed
  • Real-time contact center activity monitoring and reporting via the Contact Center Supervisor app
  • Engineering support before, during and after the events.

“The BullsEye team is extremely passionate about giving back to our community and providing support to those in need,” said Susanne Hite, director of marketing for BullsEye Telecom. “We are proud to assist these wonderful organizations in their fundraising efforts that will further advance a number of worthwhile causes.”
