GRAND RAPIDS – Amy Pierce-Danders is the new Director of Workforce Development for the Associated Builders and Contractors Western Michigan Chapter.

Pierce-Danders’ position opened up by the recent promotion of Jen Schottke to Vice President of Operations.

The addition of Amy Pierce-Danders and the promotion of Jen Schottke continue to signal the growth of the commercial construction industry in West Michigan,” said Norm Brady, President and CEO of ABC/WMC.

“Amy’s expertise in K-12 education will equip ABC Western Michigan to inspire more young people to consider a future in construction, and will allow us to serve as a resource to even more school districts and educators. Jen will continue to lead strategic workforce development initiatives, as well as take on the day-to-day leadership of chapter staff. This is an exciting time in the growth of ABC Western Michigan.”

As the Director of Workforce Development, Pierce-Danders will lead the workforce development initiatives of the Chapter. Pierce-Danders will work with West Michigan high schools, community groups, economic development agencies, government agencies, and other industry trade associations to enhance the awareness of construction career opportunities.

Pierce-Danders’ previous experience includes four years as Career Exploration Coordinator at Kent ISD and three years as Regional Employment and Internship Manager at Davenport University.  With her extensive background in mentoring, talent management, and training and development, Danders looks forward to assisting ABC/WMC in making an impact in the industry by investing and educating the workforce.
