SOUTHFIELD—The Engineering Society of Detroit will hold its annual Spring Engineering and Technology Job Fair Monday, April 29 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi.

The event is tailored specifically to meet the needs of engineering and technology professionals and employers.

For employers that have struggled with locating the right employees, ESD job fairs are hailed as the region’s premier recruitment event for engineers, recent college graduates, trained technicians and allied professionals, with all levels of experience and expertise. Prospective candidates will be seeking full- and part-time opportunities, as well as internships and co-ops.

A recruitment booth is $450 for ESD members and $550 for non-members. The package includes up to five attending corporation representatives, an eight-by-10-foot exhibit space with an eight-foot draped and skirted display tables, two chairs, lunch, free wireless internet access, and a company description on ESD’s website.

An Early Bird offer for employers, in effect until April 5, includes a free listing on ESD’s Job Bank, a $295 value.

For those seeking jobs, the ESD Job Fair is the best opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives from more than 40 of Michigan’s leading companies.  Employers will be looking for people to join their company; recruiting for full and part-time positions, internships and co-op opportunities.

Past companies have included Albrecht Engineering, Commercial Contracting Corp., DTE Energy, General Dynamics Land Systems, Ghafari, HNTB, Link Engineering, the Michigan Department of Transportation, Mitsubishi Motors R & D, Monroe Environmental, SmithGroup, Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, and Veoneer.

The job fair is free to ESD members. For non-ESD members, it’s $15 if registered by April 15 and $20 thereafter. Registration includes a one-year membership to ESD. This offer is good for new, first-time members only.
