HOLLAND – Grand Angels has named Tim Parker, a former research and development executive at Bissell Inc., as its new president.

Parker, who most recently ran his own exporting and consulting firm, succeeded Jody Vanderwel as president of the Holland-based angel investment network. He began work two weeks ago after six years of operating T.S. Parker Global, which exports American-branded packaged foods from Michigan to Asian markets and consults with startup companies.

Parker previously worked for 17 years at the Walker-based Bissell, including eight years as vice president of research and development.

“West Michigan is a leader. I saw this during my corporate experience and when I was out on my own. The things we make here are playing in a global market,” Parker said. “I am excited to bring my international perspective to the Grand Angels as well as my background in engineering and advanced product development to its portfolio and help drive growth.”
