DETROIT ? TechTown, the downtown Detroit technology accelerator run by Wayne State University, has announced that it has inked deals with six new tenants during the final quarter of this year, raising the number of tenant companies to 21.

?Our original plan was to expand to 40 companies in 10 years,? said TechTown Executive Director Howard Bell. ?We couldn?t be more pleased that just 16 months after our first tenant moved in, we are more than half way toward achieving that goal ?

The WSU tenants list includes:

21st Century Therapeutics: A drug discovery company that develops and commercializes new, experimental anticancer drugs targeted against human solid tumors.

Beyond Digital: A 3D animation and digital media development house that produces animations for use in numerous applications, including web design and video game development.

Consolidated Electric Technology Associates: A contractor that provides electrical installation services and pre-construction engineering services for commercial and industrial clients.

GradeCheck: An academic counseling and scholarship services company that helps high school students get accepted into college and guides student-athletes through the process of obtaining NCAA eligibility.

Walker-Miller Energy Services: An energy management systems company that empowers consumers of traditional and alternative energy to monitor their own consumption using new meter technology.

The Java Exchange: A coffee and cyber caf�, formerly known as The Wall Street Caf�, that provides customers with desktop computer stations, free wireless Internet access and opportunities to learn about entrepreneurship and finance through in-store events.
