TROY – Helped by a Single Business Tax credit, American Systems Technology Incorporated has said it will expand its research and technology operations, committing $3.7 million into the new center, which would create 164 direct jobs.
The company creates advanced electronics and information technology for use in military ground vehicles. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation approved a $3.5 million SBT credit for seven years.
Also helping retain the company were commitments from Troy, Oakland County, Automation Alley, Walsh College and the Troy Chamber of Commerce for everything from worker recruitment and training to memberships at the city’s aquatic center.
In a statement, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm said retention of the company was exactly the type of business the state wanted to both keep and attract.
