LANSING – The Reform Michigan Government Now! proposal collected enough signatures to appear on the November ballot, the Michigan Elections Bureau says.

The bureau released a report Tuesday morning saying the controversial proposal collected an estimated total of 415,023 signatures from registered voters. To make the ballot, the petition had to collect a minimum of 380,126 signatures from registered voters.

Later Tuesday, the bureau is also supposed to released proposed ballot language for the proposal.

On Thursday, the Board of State Canvassers is scheduled to rule on putting the proposal on the ballot. Opponents are challenging the form of its petition and will later Tuesday argue before the Court of Appeals that it is unconstitutional.
