DETROIT ? Rupesh Srivastava, president and CEO of Youngsoft, on Saturday was elected the new president of TiE-Detroit. His term will start on Jan. 1, 2011.

TiE is a global, not-for-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurs across its international network sponsored by top Venture Capital Firms, and Fortune 500 corporations; spread across 53 chapters in 12 countries comprising 1800 experienced entrepreneurs and business executives as charter members, 12000 aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals as members. TiE has grown to become the world?s largest non-profit organization for entrepreneurs.
TiE Detroit and MITechNews.Com have created a special section at MITechNews.Com that will give TiE Detroit members the chance to gain higher visibility among the Michigan technology community. The new “TiE Detroit” section posts stories, events listings, and information about TiE Detroit members. The TiE Detroit section also will be featured in MITechNews.Com’s twice monthly eCorner digital newsletter, exposing the entire Michigan technology audience to the TiE community.
The TiE-Detroit section at MITechNews.Com also will provide an opportunity for TiE members – and companies that want to get in touch with TiE members – with advertising that will appear in the section. Eight ads will be sold on a first come, first served basis. The 120 by 240 pixel ads will go for just $300 a month, on a minimum 90 day contract, with half of the proceeds going to TiE Detroit, a not-for-profit corporation.
