PONTIAC – Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said Tuesday he will begin a petition campaign to speed up the repeal of the Single Business Tax.
A week later than he had hoped, Patterson said Tuesday he had enough money in hand and commitments to meet the $800,000 goal he had set to finance a petition drive to collect more than 254,000 signatures for an initiated act.
His campaign will contract with National Petition Management, a California firm, to help collect the signatures to advance the now-scheduled 2009 end to the SBT.
