GRAND RAPIDS – The Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center has hired Brent Mulder, PhD, to provide Technology Business Consulting Services to help the state’s life sciences companies find funding and commercialize their products and services.

Mulder earned his PhD in 2002 at the University of Houston, Texas. His emphasis is on DNA sequencing and molecular biology. What?s more, he was part of an early stage company that received Small Business Innovation Research grants. His experience will help early stage companies pursue these federal fund.

While at the early stage company, Mulder also assisted in the pursuit of alternative financing, providing him with insider information that can help other start ups land financing.

Mulder will collaborate with the other five MI-SBTDC technology counselors to help Michigan companies develop business plans.

The Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center provides counseling, training and research for Michigan?s new business ventures, existing small businesses, expanding new businesses, new technology companies, and innovators. The MI-SBTDC is housed at Grand Valley State University?s Seidman College of Business in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As host of the MI-SBTDC State Headquarters, the Seidman College of Business oversees the statewide, twelve region network.
