DEARBORN The Society of Manufacturing Engineers is hosting the a Manufacturing Technology Summit in August which will highlight emerging trends, developing research and successful applications of technology throughout manufacturing.
The Manufacturing Technology Summit is scheduled for Aug. 10-11 at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Fairlane Center. The two-day event is sponsored by the Technical Community Network of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Seven different technology areas, each aligned with a Technical Community of SME will be covered at this first-of-its-kind event:
Rapid Technologies and Additive Applications
Product Process Design and Management (Lean, Supply, Chain, Quality, Etc.)
Machining and Material Removal
Forming and Fabricating
Automated Manufacturing and Assembly
Manufacturing Education, and Engineering Materials Applications
SPECIAL CONFERENCE FEATURE AND FOCUS:
Ford Rouge Factory Tour, showcasing the Ford F-150 truck. Hear presentations right from the suppliers and team that implemented the innovative manufacturing technologies to launch the Motor Trend 2004 Truck of the Year. The keynote breakfast will feature Frank Davis, Ford Motor Companys Vehicle Programs Director for Pickup Trucks and Commercial Vehicles.
