SOUTHFIELD ? LDMI Telecommunications, now a subsidiary of Talk America Holdings, has expanded its broad band communications network into Saginaw, Midland and Bay City, as well as the outlying communities of Bad Axe, Birch Run, Clare, Frankenmuth, Gladwin, Oscoda, Standish, and West Branch.

LDMI?s expansion in the region represents a significant operational and marketing investment for the company, said Patrick O?Leary, Executive Vice President-Business Services, and former LDMI President. Earlier the company expanded into Lansing and Jackson.

?LDMI services are now available to more than 70 percent of businesses throughout Michigan,?? O?Leary said. ?Our entry into the Tri City area represents a significant expansion of our network footprint and brings our competitively priced telecom solutions to more enterprises.?

LDMI?s hottest product is its SmarT, which combines high-speed Internet connectivity with local and long distance service?all on one T1 connection, on one monthly bill. The SmarT employs dynamic bandwidth allocation, building intelligence and flexibility into the T1. When inactive, voice lines become active data channels, increasing data throughput and delivering more bandwidth immediately to the business.

As of about two weeks ago, LDMI became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Talk America Holdings, an integrated communications provider serving business customers in Michigan and Ohio. Major clients include General Motors, Lear Corporation, AC Delco, and The Palace of Auburn Hills.
