ANN ARBOR – The Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest, a program run largely by volunteers for the past four years, has decided to look for a full-time executive director. Once found, the executive director will work with program manager, Rishi Moudgil, to run the statewide business plan writing contest.

The executive director’s responsibilities will include completion and implementation of a multi-year strategic vision, high-level fund raising and development, public relations, supervision of staff and volunteers and budgeting. This executive director will report directly to the GLEQ board, now lead by Chairman David Brenner.

“The decision to establish this new position is a direct reflection of the GLEQ’s growth during its first four years,” said Dave Brenner, chair of Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest and managing partner of IdeaWorks, LLC. “Since its inception, the GLEQ has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs set a solid foundation for success. We believe the addition of an executive director will enable us to accelerate our efforts as a statewide resource for early-stage high-growth businesses.”

Heres the particulars if youre interested in the job: Broad experience in strategic planning, fund raising and administration. Candidates should also have an acute knowledge of business, as well as a useful network of business contacts and organizations that actively support entrepreneurs. A bachelor’s degree plus five to 10 years of related experience is required.
